Can you be attacked while you are standing still or do you have to make a move to clock the game? (I think the early Ultima games I've tried are 2 and 3, and I think enemies could attack you while you were standing still but I'm not entirely sure.)

I think 1 is strictly turn based and in 2 and 3 a turn happens automatically if you do nothing for a few seconds.
